today's my 1st month anniversary temp-ing at my workplace.. time really flies.. way too fast nowadays.. haha..
i'm quite happy that i accepted this temp job.. cos firstly this place is accessible, don't need to transfer here and there or walk a very long distance etc.. secondly, the location of my workplace is quite ideal too (it's in town, convenient to shop after work.. lol) thirdly, the people here are fun, friendly and helpful (most are females, in case you are wondering if there is any shuai ge.. haha..) fourthly, i find familiarities here.. don't ask me why.. i jus feel this way.. in terms of looks, characters, the way they talk/handle stuff..
there are many interesting things when i got in here..
- this organisation has many offices in different levels in this tower..
- in this small dept of the huge organisation, there are 3 pregnant ladies and 1 who was a pregnant lady (didn't manage to see her as she went for maternity leave when i got in)..
- i realised all the ladies here are very slim.. even the pregnant ladies belong to those slim type.. also, those who are married and have children are still able to maintain their figures! (don't mention about tummy la.. i refering to overall figure, they still belong to skinny type) omg~ right now i think i am the fattest among them.. zzz.. need to cut down on my weight!!!
- i got many chances to see different nationalities of foreigners..
- i've got a colleague who is same age as me, attended same jc and uni, living in the same area as me! but i have never see her before, only to find her a bit familiar when i first see her.. hahaha.. fated to meet only now? hahaha
anyway, cons of working here will be high expenses, both transportation and meal wise.. zzz.. then, i need to spend quite some time on travelling too.. quite tiring at the end of the day..
oh ya.. today after lunch, i got a big surprise.
our boss told me that she wants to talk to me at a later time.
'talk to me? is it that you want to convert me to a contract staff?!?' this was my initial thought as previously my supervisor had asked me whether am i interested in a contract position.
but then, to prevent myself from getting disappointment, i switched my mindset to this, 'maybe i did something wrong? she just want to give verbal warning?' or 'she just want to talk to me to know me more, even though i'm just a small fry here.'
haha..
when i entered the meeting room, i saw my own work details and resume on the table. even though we had quite a casual talk, i still felt quite nervous (so useless, get nervous easily =.=) anyway, after we chatted for sometime, she said something which immediately turned my mind blank.
'if i have a permanent position for you, would you be interested to take up?'
OMG.
i was stunned.
a permanent position, something which i really didn't expect.
i responded to her positively, but not much excited feelings was shown on my face i think.. hahah.. cos my mind is still as blank.. haha..
anyway, i was really lucky to be offered such position. cos one of my colleagues has only tendered her resignation letter few days ago.. also, my other colleagues have expressed thier views on me positively.. if it's not for them, i won't be able to have a chance to take up this offer.
lucky goddess has shined her luck on me..
i wonder whether getting so lucky now will mean any bad luck later?
hmmm..
regarding this position, i can only say that i can learn many things and it's a super challenging job, especially for someone like me who is always quiet and not fluent in expressing herself verbally in english..
gosh.. got to brush up my communication skills..
